Today, we are creating a table lamp using a tea light, a wine glass, and a few items from the Bridal Collection by David Tutera! Good thing they are sold at dollar stores! The gel clings did have to be replaced once, my toddler dropped it on the dog and we learned it’s really hard to get dog hair off gel window clings. The colors look so bright and bold on the light table! My kids have been playing with these for over a week. I hadn’t planed on cutting mine out but I accidentally printed it on scratch paper and if I didn’t cut out the scratch paper doodles would show through on the light table. It was a pain to cut out but I like how it turned out! To be honest, you don’t have to cut it out. I colored mine brown, cut it out, and laminated it. To make the tree just simply find one via Google search (“winter tree outline”), download, and print. They went well with the gel window clings and moving these little leaves all around is such a great fine motor activity. ![]() I added the leaves and a tree outline to our light table loose parts basket. I have lots of ideas to use these in other counting and learning activities so I think I’ll get way more than one use out of my $4. It includes multi color leaves and red/green apples. I grabbed a pack of these fall accents on a trip to Michaels, they cost about $4. ![]() Next we also added a tree outline and decorative fall acrylic leaves. They really liked the versatility of these and the kids created pumpkin patches and a forest trees with falling trees. The kids like that these were puffy and sticky, the texture entertained them nearly as much as playing with them on the light table. The kids got busy with these fun lass light table activities right away. I’m sure your can find them at any big box or craft store you have locally. I bought our window clings at Michaels in their fall/Thanksgiving area. Use what your budget allows! The kids will love it either way! Materials for these two activities:Ĭombine your window clings and acrylic gems (or use them individually on their own) on the light table. Honestly the new one is so much better, several kids can use it at once, but there is nothing wrong with the DIY ones. We used out DIY light table for a long time before I broke down and bought on. I got a really great deal on a light panel last year after Christmas, it’s what we are using now, but you can find our DIY light table posts to help you make your own. ![]() I used out new light panel for these activities. The light table is much more fun when it’s in a dark room. This week I pulled together a these simple (and virtually no prep) light table activities for fall and they were such a hit with my daughter and my daycare kids.įine Motor Light Table Activities for Fall Our light table gets so much more use in the fall and winter months, I think it’s because the weather has changed so we are inside more and it’s getting darker earlier.
